Limited-Edition FIAT for Japanese Market
FIAT Unveils Limited-Edition Black and Yellow 500
It seems as if Japan’s been getting all the special edition models lately. Today, Fiat announced another one for the Japanese market only, and thankfully this one’s a bit more tasteful than the last Japan-only special edition model we saw from Nissan. What’s the new special edition you ask? It’s a black and yellow colored 500 and 500C Cabrio dubbed the Pop-Bi that would make Wiz-Khalifa proud.
The Fiat 500 Pop-Bi is more of a paint and upholstery job than anything else. Limited to just 50 models, the limited-edition Pop-Bi is distinctive for its split black and Pikachu-yellow paint scheme. The 500 Pop-Bi features yellow paint until the car’s beltline, with everything above that painted black. The 500C Pop-Bi looks much the same, although it loses the 500’s distinctive split-paint job in favor of solid yellow paint with a black cloth top.
Inside, the automatic-transmission equipped 500 Pop-Bi’s have black upholstery (save for the roof liner,) with a yellow trim on the dash providing a visual split between the top and bottom of the cabin. Other than the special paint, the 500 Pop-Bi is just a normal 500. It features the standard 1.2-liter inline-four cylinder engine producing 68-hp and 75 ft-lb of torque. The 50 examples of the 500 and 500C Pop-Bi are currently on sale In Japan for 2,100,000 Yen or around $26,295 at today’s exchange rates.
